Абстракт:
Настоящият материал представлява обзор върху горната тема, която е обект на многобройни изследвания от страна на различни специалисти – молекулярни биолози, генетици, имунолози, патофизиолози и разбира се, не по-малко вълнуваща е за ендокринолозите, които като крайно звено във веригата, в пряк досег с пациента, са призвани да прилагат научните достижения с цел предотвратяване на заболяването, подобряване на качеството и удължаване продължителността на живота на заболелите.
Обзорът се базира върху малка част от публикациите по темата (те са над 500!), затова не може да претендира за изчерпателност, но е в състояние да представи различни гледни точки по въпроса, тенденции в проучванията, промени и/или допълнения в утвърдени теоритични аспекти на етиологията и патогенезата на захарния диабет. Проучванията върху ролята на цитокините в етиологията и патогенезата са многобройни, нерядко озадачаващи или направо противоречиви. Не може да не се отбележи и фактът, че експериментите важат за тъканни култури, а когато са ин виво, в огромното си мнозинство са върху животински модели – NOD мишки или dp плъхове.
Материалът включва в себе си информация за етиологията и патогенезата на захарен диабет тип 1 през призмата на цитокините, отчитайки съвременните научни достижения и открития.

Abstract:
The following material is a survey on the topic “Cytokines and diabetes mellitus type 1”, which is an object of umpteen examinations of different experts – molecular biologists, geneticists, pathophysiologists. Naturally the endocrinologists are expected to be interested in this topic too, because they have been the last link in the chain, in direct contact with to the patients. The endocrinologists are called to apply the scientific achievements in order to prevent the disease, to improve their lifestyle and prolong the average life expectancy of the people suffering with diabetes.
The review is based on a small part of the publications on the topic/there have been above 500 publications/, therefore this material claim to be comprehensive. It is supposed to present different points of view on the theme, including trends in investigations, changes and/or additions to approved theoretical aspects of the etiology and pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus. The explorations on the influence of cytokines on the etiology and pathogenesis are numerous, often surprising or just contradictory. It is important to underline the fact that the experiments apply to tissue cultures and when in vivo, in most occasions they have been experimented on animal species – NOD mice and dp rats.
The material has included information on the etiology and pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus type 1, taking into account the influence of the cytokines and reckoning with the novel scientific achievements.
